60 Seconds with...Viveen

16 September 2020
Viveen is a participant at the Elders Voice Reading Friends Online Café which started in June 2020 as a response to the Covid-19 lockdown. It is an online group through Zoom.
What is your favourite thing about Reading Friends?
We have a lot of fun, we see lots of different things together and I love the laughter.
Why did you get involved with Reading Friends?
It’s something to do and it means I meet different people.
What is the best book you’ve ever read?
I like the books of James Patterson, I like detective stories.
If you could try, or learn, something new, what would it be?
I would love to learn a language – I would like to be able to speak French. Since lockdown I have been doing more reading. I had to come back early from Trinidad and I was supposed to be in America now.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
My radio and TV keep me occupied and informed, but I could not do without my phone because without it I couldn’t keep in touch with my brothers and sisters.
If you could be any fictional character, who would it be?
I’d be a vampire. There are a lot of people I’d like to scare!
Tell us something about yourself that is interesting or might surprise us?
I’m one of 10 children – I have five brothers and four sisters. We’re very close. When we were young, my parents said we didn’t need anyone else to play with. Now we meet up every Sunday night through Zoom.
