In Oldham, the Library Service runs local projects in partnership with Royton Springboard Community Centre and Oldham Council’s Thriving Communitites team.

Reading Friends in Oldham has made great progress over the past year and is reaching more than 400 participants. They run groups for people with dementia and their carers and also organise special events at the library.  Oldham Library Service is about to expand the programme to new areas of Tameside and Stockport, so keep in touch for updates.

You get friendship and social interaction, but I think it is deeper than that.
