In Oldham, the Library Service runs local projects in partnership with Royton Springboard Community Centre and Oldham Council’s Thriving Communitites team.

Reading Friends in Oldham has made great progress over the past year and is reaching more than 400 participants. They run groups for people with dementia and their carers and also organise special events at the library.  Oldham Library Service has also just started coordinating the programme across the whole Greater Manchester area in partnership with nine other library authorities.

You get friendship and social interaction, but I think it is deeper than that.
