My poem about Reading Friends
Written by Reading Friends volunteer
09 July 2018
Our Reading Friends community is very creative and always full of new and exciting ideas. We’d like to share a poem written by one of our Reading Friends volunteers in Horsham.
Lavinia House, Horsham
We’ve come together to read and have fun
But we’ve discovered poetry, whether about the sea or the sun.
We’ve laughed at Des O’Conner, Spike Milligan and Pam Ayres
But we’ve also “wandered lonely as a cloud” with Wordsworth with no cares.
We like the words, pictures and the rhyme
And we nearly always run out of time.
We learn new words; “ooze” and “courteous” in just one week
We listen to each other and let one another speak.
So an hour just whizzes by ………….
And we look forward to new things to try.
