Our Reading Friends are exceptional people. To celebrate this we thought of a plan to highlight the wonderful and rich lives they have lived. To do this, we headed on our mission to find some exceptional Reading Friends stories. We asked our Reading Friends organisers to help us collect stories of Reading Friends participants that might be interesting to include in our film – and we were inundated. We received stories from across the UK, and carefully selected four that best represented our programme.
Our four authors, Ian McMillan, Veronica Henry, Vaseem Khan, and Ifor ap Glyn then penned short pieces of flash fiction to represent a moment in the lives of each of our Reading Friends. We used these stories as the foundation of our film. We also put together a booklet which you can find below.
