Hertfordshire Libraries ‘Telephone Reading Chat’ offers Home Library Service customers a 1:1 telephone call as a befriending service. Library staff are reaching out to their established reading community of Home Library Service customers by calling them for an informal reading chat and become Reading Friends.

Our Home Library Service customers are amongst the most vulnerable and isolated of our customers. We have continued to be in contact with them throughout the pandemic, and the Reading Friends programme gives us the chance to build on this by adding a reading angle to these conversations.
